My firm specializes in medical malpractice cases with an emphasis on cases involving children. Unlike many of the large plaintiff firms in San Diego, I personally handle every aspect of the case from start to finish. BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

After clerking for the San Diego County District Attorney's office, Scott was one of nine Attorney's hired by the San Diego Public Defenders Office from a group of several hundred. During his affiliation with the Public Defender, Scott handled hundreds of criminal matters and prepared and tried numerous jury trials. Scott was then recruited by McInnis, Fitzgerald, Rees & Sharkey, one of San Diego's largest medical malpractice defense firms. While there, Scott was responsible for defending a variety of medical malpractice cases. Scott successfully defended medical malpractice matters before establishing his own law firm in 1996. Scott now brings his special knowledge and expertise in handling complex medical cases, along with his extensive trial experience to those who have been injured at the hands of negligence.

EDUCATION:

Scott attended California Western School of Law in San Diego. While there, Scott was a member the Schools Nationally recognized Trial Advocacy Team. He traveled all across the Country competing against other law schools. During this time Scott achieved the following: Recipient - Lewis F. Powell Jr. - American College of Trial lawyers Award for Excellence in Advocacy. Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition - Regional Champion. Gafford Trial Competition - Champion. Tournament of Champions - Finalist Tournament of Champions - Runner up.

Prior to attending law school Scott graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in 1983. Scott graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1979.

Scott is married to Alicia, who is a Physician with Sharp Rees Stealy Medical Group in San Diego. They live in Point Loma with their two daughters, Hannah (10) and Sarah (5).
